General Rules and Enrollment Form

2024-2025 School Year

Scholarships will be awarded to selected winners for study at any accredited College, University or Vocational/Technical Schools.

The John Becklund Memorial Scholarship will impose no restrictions of any kind on the course of study. Recipient may accept any other grants or awards, which do not in themselves rule out scholarship aid from other sources.

Who may apply; Sons, daughters, stepchildren or grandchildren of active or retired members of Teamsters Local No. 313 or active or retired members of Teamsters Local No. 313 who are legal guardian of the above. Documentation of legal guardianship will be required. The member must be either in good standing or has retired from Teamsters Local No. 313. Children of fulltime representatives, executive board members, and officers of Teamsters Local No. 313 are not eligible. The applicant must be a high school senior planning to attend fall semester 2023 or already attending an accredited College, University or Vocational/Technical School of their choice.

Applications will be accepted until April 19, 2024 at the close of business.

Awarding scholarships: All applications and required forms must be forwarded to the Teamsters Local No.313 Scholarship Selection Committee. Apart from verifying the eligibility of the applicant, Teamsters Local No. 313 will not exercise any choice among the various applicants or indicate in any way that one applicant should be favored over another. The Scholarship Selection Committee will review each applicant and their qualifications and select the winner(s). The selection will be made without regard to the applicant’s race, color, religion, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or physical handicaps. The scholarship winner(s) will be announced as soon as possible, and a check will be sent to the winner(s) choice of where they plan to attend or currently are enrolled upon proof of enrollment

   2. A brief resume outlying your academic achievements and career goals.
   3. An essay under 400 words of your most rewarding volunteer work, what you learned from that experience and the benefit(s) of being raised in a Teamster Household.
